“Shock and Awe”
Day 53, #2026bigyearproject
Life can still surprise me. That thought gives me a shiver of anticipation and curiosity.
I am not done tasting every possible flavor. The frozen pizza that sat in our freezer much too long was not a pleasant tidbit. I took a bite and gagged. I asked my hubby to try it, in case I was being picky. The brave man took a small cheesy piece.
“That is NOT good.”
Even though I was craving a margarita pizza, I scrapped this poor version of that treat into the garbage can. No need for unnecessary suffering!
As we were leaving a Filipino restaurant, I saw a small container of crispy treats. My longing for barquillos is constant. The familiar tin boxes no longer appear in Asian markets. In case these goodies were similar, I picked up one jar at the cash register. The clerk told me that they are very popular. I was hopeful.
Oh, wow! After having one Lengua de Gato, I became an instant fan. My dear partner joked that we may have to drive up to Niles to buy these more often! He liked them, too.
A dear friend gave me this cellist’s t-shirt that she found. We both laughed. I loves me a great pun. I snapped a quick selfie to show her that I wore it yesterday and thank her for giving such excellent and thoughtful gifts.
While scratching the letters on a lottery ticket, the first two spaces spelled my name. That felt like a howdy hello from the angels of good luck.
My day-to-day routine is comforting and quite ordinary, but bits of spice come in to add zip and remind me to be aware.
One never knows when a miracle might arrive!

I look for bits of spice even if I’m not leaving the house! And I find them!❤️
