Strolling down the avenue.
For the first time in much too long, we have ventured far afield.
Although the landscape changes, we have each other as constants.
After lots of driving, we gave ourselves the luxury of an unscheduled day. 10/10, highly recommended!
We will be hugging lots of special souls over the next few days. It is so sweet to gather for a happy reason!
Last night, I had the joy of sifting through stacks of old photographs. Now and then, the face of someone I knew long ago would pop up. Oh, my heart! The familiar stance, bright grin, and other cues swept me back ten, twenty, fifty, or more years. Time travel is a full-body experience. My eyes got misty, hands clapped spontaneously, and legs catapulted me to a standing position. It was a bit of a workout.
I know there will be lots of snapshots from this weekend that will become treasured mementos. We will be creating time capsules for some other sentimental person to discover in a few years.
